Terragon is a search quest game that I developed with a group of students for the course Serious Gaming of my Communication and Multimedia Design degree.

In Terragon children will be taken into the nature reserve Terragon in Amsterdam and will explore the story of the Worm Kingdom.

Before the children arrive in Terragon they will be playing a Digital game in their classroom where they have to seperate bad from the good waste to keep a worm hotel alive.

When they arrive in Terragon the children get a map and have to choose to explore one out of 3 paths in Terragon, all with their own story and quests like puzzles and searching for objects.

The goal of the game is to make children involved for a green future like is shown in Terragon. In the nature reserve the owner has a river with an electrically driven boat, a worm hotel where green waste gets eaten by worms until it's compost, sustainable agriculture and buildings made from recycled materials. When the children explore Terragon through the game they will get involved with all these segments and will see the benefit of it for a better future.

The assignment about Terragon was a really learnful task in two ways. One was the fact we had to develop a game with both an analog and a digital segment to it and combine this into one product. And the second learnful experience was the fact that we as the design team had to design the digital game in such a way that a team of IT students could develop it for us. We as the design team had to deliver the whole game design and assets to those IT students and they made it a functional game in HTML.
